How to Add Planting Data to FieldView Cab App Before Harvest for Yield Analysis

FieldView™ provides powerful analysis tools to understand the factors that impact yield across each field. One of the core ways this value is realized is by having both planting and harvest data in FieldView™ for each season. This opens up the opportunity to understand how different genetics, soil environments, and seeding rates affect yield across the operation by using tools like SplitView, real-time Yield-by-Hybrid reports, Field Region Report, and Yield Analysis.

There are several ways to get planting data into FieldView prior to harvest to enable these powerful tools.

If FieldView™ Cab app was connected to either a 20|20 SeedSense® or FieldView Drive to collect planting data then it’s ready for use within FieldView. Once the maps are built, real-time Yield-by-Hybrid reporting and viewing of planting and harvest maps in SplitView will be available while harvesting. Maps can be built manually using the data page in Settings if needed.

After collecting yield data with FieldView Cab connected to either a 20|20 or FieldView Drive, it will be possible to use the Field Region Report and Yield Analysis.

Upload the planting files from a planting monitor using the Data Inbox at FieldView.com (Data > Upload & Import). After uploading, these planting maps will be visible in FieldView Cab and within the FieldView app.

The FieldView Cab app is able to show Yield by Hybrid in real-time in the combine if these maps are built on the iPad® in the cab before beginning harvest. If maps need to be built, navigate to the Data page in Settings.

After uploading harvest files to the Data Inbox or after collecting yield data with FieldView Cab connected to either a 20|20 or FieldView Drive, it will be possible to use the Field Region Report and Yield Analysis.

The Load List can also be used to track how multiple Hybrids are performing compared to one another in the field very similar to how Manual Hybrid Override worked. Add a new Load where each Hybrid was planted in the field and use the Hybrid name to rename the Load. Following harvest, you’ll be able to see the Harvested Acres, Wet Weight, Average Moisture, Dry Bushels, and Average Yield for each planted Hybrid. Here is an article covering how to use the Load List to track Hybrid performance.
